This version is for people who already run Home Assistant and want local-first list management directly inside HA. It has grown from a simple categorized list into a phone-first, one-stop hub: plan the week's meals, pull up a recipe's steps while you cook, and build the shopping list from it — all without leaving Home Assistant and without a separate cloud service or subscription.

What's new
Recent releases turned the panel into a full meal-planning and shopping hub. Highlights:
Import from a recipe link
Paste a recipe URL into a new meal and tap Import — your Home Assistant reads the page's recipe data and fills in the name, ingredients, and directions for you to review and tweak before saving. It stays local: your HA fetches the page itself, nothing is sent to a cloud service.
Favorites, per person
Each Home Assistant user can star the meals they love. Favorites are personal to whoever's signed in and float to the top of the Meals list, so everyone in the house finds their go-to meals fast.
Notes, categories & search
Add notes to any meal — swaps, who likes it, serving ideas — right alongside the directions, and edit them in place without opening the editor. Set up your own categories (Dinner, 30 min or less, One-pot…) and check off as many as fit each meal, then filter the Meals tab with a tap. And search by name or ingredient as your collection grows.
Phone-first bottom tab bar
List, Shop, Meals, and Plan sit in a bottom tab bar, so every main screen is one tap away instead of buried in a menu — built around how households actually use it on a phone.
Shopping Mode
A stripped-down screen that shows only the unchecked items, grouped in your list's category (store) order, with large tap targets, a progress bar, and a quick add for anything you forgot.
Quick Add autocomplete
As you type, a dropdown suggests items you've added before — each with its category already worked out — so a known item goes on the list in one tap. It also cuts down near-duplicates like "milk" vs "Milk".
Recipes with cook mode
Define a meal once — ingredients plus numbered directions. Add it with a pre-checked ingredient checklist, then switch to the Directions tab and tap each step off as you cook.
Dated meal planner
Assign saved meals to real dates, page between weeks, and add a single day's or the whole week's ingredients at once — combined and de-duplicated, shown in a confirm checklist. Add a meal to a day right from the meal (Today, Tomorrow, or any date), and nothing ever auto-clears.
Smarter, customizable
An expanded built-in knowledge of common items means far fewer things land in "Other," and a checkbox list lets each person turn categories on or off — because not everyone shops the same way.

Who should use it
Use the Home Assistant version if Home Assistant is already the place where your household automations, dashboards, and voice flows live. Use the Android app if you want a standalone product with optional sync and no Home Assistant dependency.

The Home Assistant version is free and local-only. The standalone Android app is a separate product with free local mode and optional paid sync.
